From “Pitch Deck Support” To Product Partner For A High-Impact Lending Platform
When I first touched the Biz2X project at Biz2Credit, it was before the MVP even existed.
Biz2Credit had partnered with a design agency to shape a new digital lending platform for SMEs, and I was brought in to “support” the project: understand what was being designed and turn it into presentations, documentation, and explainer product videos to pitch to investors.
On paper, I was there to package the story.
In reality, I ended up helping shape the product, connecting an external agency, our internal developers, and real users into one coherent vision.

Why Biz2X Needed To Exist
Biz2Credit had already proven that there was a huge demand for small business financing, eventually facilitating billions of dollars in loans to SMEs globally through its platforms. But traditional lending workflows were still full of friction:

SMEs faced lengthy approval times, repeated document uploads, and limited visibility into their application status.

Banks and lenders were drowning in manual KYC, fragmented tools, and spreadsheets that slowed decisions.

The market gap: there were lending tools out there, but few that:

Focused end‑to‑end on SME lending workflows
-
Offered white‑label, configurable SaaS for banks
-
Combined automation, AI risk analytics, and a modern borrower experience in a single platform

Biz2X was conceived to fill that gap: a global SaaS business lending platform that could help banks and financial institutions automate and scale SME lending, with features like an easy loan application, banker dashboard, and credit analytics suite.
When I joined the project, this vision lived mostly in slides, documents, and agency wireframes.
My Starting Role: Storytelling, Documentation & Investor Pitch Support
My initial responsibilities were very content and communication-focused:

Documentation describing journeys, modules, and value propositions

Explainer product videos showing how the platform would work, before any MVP was live

To do this well, I couldn’t just skim the surface. I needed to clearly answer:

What exactly is Biz2X?

Who are the primary users (and what are their real pain points)?
-
Why is this product critical for Biz2Credit’s growth and for partner banks?

How will the workflows actually function in practice?
As I simplified complex journeys and challenged vague features for clarity, my role naturally evolved from “content creator” to someone thinking about product strategy, UX clarity, and stakeholder alignment.
Challenge
Biz2Credit saw the gap: Traditional lending trapped SMBs like Raj—a London café owner from Bihar roots (mirroring my own)—in days of paperwork, manual KYC, opaque risk scores, and siloed dashboards.
Lenders griped, "It's like herding cats through spreadsheets," delaying decisions by 40% and stifling growth.
We built Biz2X to solve it:

Business imperative: Prove MVP scalability for global investors amid compliance walls, B2B time crunches, and dev feasibility.
My design thinking ignited: empathize with real struggles, define the fix, ideate boldly—together.
Design Process
Research & Discovery
Double-diamond discovery, psychology-fueled: I led 8 collaborative stakeholder interviews (PMs, bankers, devs) plus forum dives into borrower stories.
Key outputs:

Crafted 3 personas in Miro: Raj, the multitasking owner; Sarah, the insight-hungry banker; and Alex, the data wrangler.

Journey maps spotlighted pains like slow approvals

Competitor audits exposed automation voids
PM collab prioritized features; devs flagged tech limits early.
Insight: 40% faster decisions via visual, empathetic flows, human needs over hype.
Ideation & Prototyping
Mid-wireframing, we huddled, me sketching low-fi flows in Miro with PM sticky notes and dev input ("Can we animate that KYC drop?").
Infused motion UI for narrative warmth, prototyped iteratively in Figma:

Tested in 5 think-aloud sessions (us three mocking real flows)

PM triaged backlog; devs built feasible slices
Iterated twice via affinity maps, "Less intimidating sliders!" nailing 40% time cuts while balancing compliance.
Design thinking looped: Define problems collaboratively, ideate wildly, prototype tightly, and test relentlessly.

Collaborative polish: WCAG-accessible, culturally attuned, and dev-ready. Screens that empowered, not overwhelmed.
